A NUMBER of Shoalhaven junior basketballers have taken part in the under 12 NSW Country skills days.
The skills days target athletes from various regions, with events being staged far and wide across NSW Country.
Skills weekends were staged as far as Coffs Harbour and Tamworth in the north, Wagga in the south west, Bathurst and Dubbo in the west, Newcastle and Gosford in the central area and Illawarra and Moruya in the south.
Ten Shoalhaven juniors took part in the clinics, two at Moruya and the remainder at Illawarra.
Over the recent weekend more than 400 kids from across NSW Country took part in the clinics, which proved to be the biggest numbers for the past five years.
The clinics are a skills based program, with the emphasis on enjoyment and fun, and from the clinic players are selected to attend the annual NSW Country Basketball Annual Jamboree.
This year’s jamboree will be staged at Port Macquarie from September 27 to October 1 and will be headed up by Shoalhaven State League coach Scott Balsar, who will be head coach and program co-ordinator.
Rachel Fatima Woods, Caleb Wright and James Shewan were selected to attendm the jamboree.
