Bomaderry 17.16 (118)
Port Kembla 2.3 (15)
IN TESTING conditions competition leaders Bomaderry Tigers fought their way to a huge 118-15 victory over Port Kembla in round 16 of the South Coast ALF competition.
After kicking 12 behinds in their nail biting victory over Northern Districts last week the Tigers were keen to improve on Saturday.
“We were definitely looking to improve those aspects from last week,” said captain coach Clarrie Raymer.
“It wasn’t easy in the blustery conditions and it was quite a scrappy game.”
Despite this the captain kicked 10 goals for his side.
“Yeah I suppose I can’t complain about that,” he said.
The Tiger’s started off slow and built up their dominance gradually.
“We got off to a slow start in the first quarter,” Raymer explained.
“In the second quarter we built into things and linked up well.
“The ball was on the ground a lot, but its hard to gauge our performance in those terrible conditions.
“We will just be working into next week’s game now and prepare ourselves for the finals.”
